What's your appetite for 100% grass fed beef?

I've been researching the health benefits and logistics of buying 100% grass fed, kosher beef.  It's been a fun project, but now I'm at a decision point about whether to make this something I make happen (and invest) or just wait for someone else to do it.  And that is dependent upon you - and our community's interest in 100% grass fed beef, kosher or not.

Please take the following short and anonymous survey and let me know your thoughts.

I took the survey and I'm interested. The only comment I have is that I would prefer that you do not offer treif products. It would be a big mitzvah to bring Yidden closer to keeping kosher by offering healthy, kosher meat at a good price. If treif is available, it sends the wrong message and may cause some people to think that it's OK to eat it, or simply buy it because it's cheaper.

Thank you for your efforts!

Hi Moshe,

Thank you for your support and interest. I'm not planning to sell the same cuts kosher and treif. So - if people want a ribeye, it'll be a kosher ribeye.

But the costs get very high if you discard a lot of the beef. And the Bay Area just isn't that kosher and I hope we can turn people onto the benefits of kosher and grass fed beef. I'll do my best!

Thanks for your support.

Joelle

We are hooked on grass fed beef and are the host site for Marin Sun Farms in San Mateo / Northern Peninsula area. Not only is it leaner and tastier, it is humanely raised (imagine - cows roaming the outdoors and eating grass, the food they were meant to eat?). I recommend you check it out, or other grass-fed beef options via the CSA method -- supports farmers directly, and is a great way to connect with other like-minded families who want to support sustainable agriculture and healthy food practices.
